Camille Melo
Photography Studies Student | Ryerson University
Camille Melo will in a few months hold a BFA from Ryerson's Photography Studies program. Even though she attends university in downtown Toronto, she has been travelling to Waterloo and staying in their student housing frequently over the past three years. While student rentals are almost unnoticeable in the bustling city of Toronto, entire streets in the town of Waterloo are dedicated to just student rentals, with signs advertising the house's status as a student rental permanently installed on their facades. Unable to avoid noticing this startling difference, Camille has decided to dedicate her final photography project at Ryerson to documenting and researching it.
While she normally works in the studio, Camille's photographic style is versatile and she enjoys trying new things to create evocative and critical artworks. Her work has been displayed within her school and in its publications over the past four years.
